Chateaumane is a small, in-home, quality conservation breeding program registered with CFA. It is located in beautiful west Michigan (Grand Rapids). Chateaumane produces highly intelligent, loving, well-socialized, healthy Turkish angoras for conformation exhibition and companionship. My pedigreed Turkish angoras are DNA health-tested via Wisdom Panel, HCM heart screened (by a feline cardiologist) and tested FeLV/FIV negative prior to breeding. All Turkish angora kittens have a comprehensive veterinary exam that includes full core Purevax vaccinations at 8, 12, and 16 weeks old, are from FELV/FIV negative parents, are spayed/neutered and micro-chipped prior to leaving for their new home. We offer a written health guarantee and a lifetime of support. I am lovingly dedicated to the conservation of the Turkish angora cat breed! You should be able to obtain answers to the following questions: 1. How was the kitten raised – in a cage or under foot? All of my cats are raised in my home and are never caged. My Turkish angoras are only contained for several days after a spay/neuter to promote healing and to prevent injury. 2. Health guarantee – how long is the guarantee and what is covered? I provide a 7 YEAR genetic health guarantee. Kittens visit their veterinarian prior to leaving for their forever homes for a complete health check. 3. What if things don’t work out – what is the “return” policy? I will always accept any Chateaumane Turkish angora cat or kitten back for any reason. 4. What is the personality of this specific kitten? I work diligently on providing enrichment and socialization for the kittens so they are loving, social and wonderful companions. I get to know each kittens unique personality and preferences and share it with potential pet parents. 5. Vaccinations – what has been given, when was it given and when is the next shot due? I am an avid advocate for Turkish angora health. I believe all kittens should be fully core vaccinated prior to leaving for their forever homes. My kittens are vaccinated with Purevax rabies, three Purvax Feline RCP (Rhinotracheitis-Calicivirus-Panleukopenia Virus, are FELV/FIV tested negative and are responsibly spayed and neutered prior to placement. 6. Health history – has the litter been healthy, are all the individual kittens healthy, is the mother healthy? I health test both the mother and father prior to breeding. Kittens are raised with much love and care. I provide high quality foods and enrichment throughout kittenhood! 7. Feline leukemia testing – have both parents been tested and are they negative? Yes! 8. Was a stool sample tested and what were the results? Yes! Negative 9. What is the feeding schedule, what food is the kitten or cat used to and what kind of litter is the kitten or cat used to? I do not force wean any of my kittens. I let the mother nurse the kittens as long as she wants. This provides a very loving, social well rounded Turkish angora (this is actually proven in scientific studies!) Kittens are fed a variety of high quality kitten foods. Wet food is the healthiest option for cats. I provide protein rich nutrition kitten canned foods like Wellness Core kitten, Nature's Variety Instinct and Almo Nature canned. I use non-clumping natural litter until they are 4 months old. After 4 months of age, I use Dr. Elsey's Touch of Outdoors clumping litter. They love the fine granular texture and low dust of Dr. Elsey's. 10. Has the kitten been trained to a scratching post? Yes! I prove my Turkish angora scratching posts, cat trees, interactive toys, catnip toys, treat toys. They are exposed to vacuum cleaners, kids and general active household goings-on. I do not believe in declawing. Turkish angoras are extremely smart and can learn/be trained to use a scratching post/pads consistently.
